Opening Prompt- Cyrus Style Prompt (20 Min)

  • Step 1- Create a List of Things that You’re ThankFull For. Make a goal of at least 5.
  • Step 2- Explain each thing that you’re thankful for in your own words.

    Title: “Species Worth Saving”
    Summary- For the past several years, the environment has been changing in various ways. However, the most affected by the environmental changes are the birds. In the article “Species Worth Saving” the author Laura Helmuth indicates that several species have become extinct, but saving many species is worth it. Many fossil records demonstrate that whenever humans reach a new landmass they destroy anything that may be in the way. Not only are species becoming extinct in one certain area but they are becoming extinct in many parts of the world. However about a century ago, extinction stopped. Many people realized that the number of birds were decreasing. In addition, red-cockaded woodpeckers are also worth saving. Red-cockaded woodpeckers are clever, socially adept, and adorable. They often built nests by excavating cavities in old pine trees in the Southeast, it is a great evolutionary strategy. There are several reasons for which one should save species. In several instances they help maintain the environment in good conditions. One should help maintain the environment in great conditions by saving species.
